In The Flow

When we continually breathe with awareness , we begin to get the sneaking suspicion that oxygen behaves more like a liquid than a gas.
It flows into our lungs , cascades into the capillaries , flooding every cell.
A continual rain of blessings ...this torrent of oxygen .
And then it unites with our next best friend , hydrogen , to form the water molecule .
We human animals are immersed , floating in oxygen .
It is rejuvenating , renewing , healing, cleansing ...breath by breath .
It's an elixir , a free fountain of youth .
Bringing us into essential equilibrium .
Bathing this body in atmospheric Light .
Today , I was riding as fast as i could , along the coast road , for 2+ hours , in the tropical sun , no clouds , strong trades , hilly , the middle section of the Ironman course .
I had 2 bike bottles with me , but i only took a couple sips of water the entire ride , 35 miles.
Breaking all the hydration rules that I preach to the cross country team .
I stayed focused on every breath , the quality , the subtleties of the inhale & exhale...uphill downhill .
I wasn't thirsty , it was as if I was drinking oxygen .
Breathe as if your life depended on it .
